Target reported single digit increases in same store sales in March for the following departments: Household Essentials, Hardlines, and Home which included a strong performance in Seasonal items. The company had double digits increases in same store sales for Food and Apparel & Accessories.

Target is currently attractively undervalued with a trailing PE ratio of 13.49, a forward PE ratio of 11.95, a PEG of 1.14, a price to sales ratio of 0.55, and a price to book ratio of 2.45.

The company hauls in $5.43 billion in operating cash flow and $1.03 billion in free cash flow. Target uses about 54% of its free cash flow to reward shareholders with a dividend of 2.1%.

Target exceeded its earnings estimates in all four quarters of FY12. It looks like it should also exceed estimates for the first quarter of FY13 and beyond. The company has 13 upward earnings revisions for FY13 and 14 upward earnings revisions for FY14.
